Centre of Information and Communication
The aim of the project is to create a centralized regional database and data interchange system linking all the member States of MOWCA and which will be accessible to the general maritime industry, through the use of internet and intranet technology.
The Secretary General has launched the implementation of Information and Communication Centre through the following websites: www.marineafric.com and www.mowca.org. Côte d’Ivoire, the host country, committed itself to provide MOWCA with adequate office accommodation for the effective installation of the Information and Communication Centre.
Within the framework of its assistance to MOWCA, the Republic of Korea through the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), donated to the Secretariat computers/servers for the Information and Communication Centre.
Furthermore, it is necessary to note the appreciable efforts of member States in putting in place their respective Information and Communication Centres with the view to ensuring its coordination with the Centre of Information and Coordination of MOWCA.
Member States are urged to give their support to the establishment of the Information and Communication Centre by providing the Centre with regular port statistics and other economic data.
